Chame from Home premium to pro or ult

    Is there an instruction on how to change from home premium to pro or ultimate ?

    Windows Anytime Upgrade and enter Pro or Ult key (OEM:SLP one is fine too).

    Upgrade/Downgrade Windows 7 Versions

    Hi,

    Create a registry file that contains (everything below except the < and >)the following:
    <
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion]
    "CurrentBuild"="7100"
    "EditionID"="Professional"
    "CurrentBuildNumber"="7100"
    >

    Insert the Professional disk (or Ultimate if you have changed Professional to Ultimate) and run setup. Do an upgrade.

    You CANNOT change from 32bit to 64bit (or vice versa) using this method. That requires a reinstall.

    I have a legit Home Premium coming ($29) but either way you have to change the key, might as well just stick to using the RTM + loader.

    upgrade need a long time,use anytime upgrade is right way if possible

    But There is no advantage to upgrading a legit home premium to pro/ult with an OEM Key vs just using a loader on the RTM ?


    Just trying to find the best method to avoid losing geniune advantage in the future.

    Yep but might works for downgrades as well :)

    downgrades are possible using that reg hack.

    However Anytime Upgrade is the way to "unlock" features to upgrade versions, if you use the reg hack and upgrade to a new version you are just wasting your time because Anytime Upgrade is made for that specific purpose and using anytime upgrade you save time.
