Change linux OS identification in VMware?

    Does anyone know how to change a linux based OS to think that it's running on an physical server rather than a VM?
    BIOS mod?

    And why would you need to do so?
    You most likely going wrong way about whatever you want to achieve

    Describe better, so you will get correct answer

    Try giving the Virtual Machine VT-x? Allows one to run ESXi in a VM.

    I'm trying to make the OS think it's running on a physical server rather than a VM.
