I have not done a clean install to any of the recent builds, thus I still have 4 columns instead of 3 per grouping for my start menu. I really would like to change that to 3 (This is where a bunch of you will think I'm crazy :nosweat:), as it coincides well to my phone setup.

Is there anyone here that knows of a registry hack to change the number of columns in a group for the start menu?

In the new builds you can resize the start menu with your mouse older builds I don't realy know if it's possible by registry hack :tea:

Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...

Yes, but you can only resize by the groupings, not individual tile columns. I've pondered about if there is a registry entry for it. Thought Id atleast ask :p

Me too, I prefer having 4 columns rather than 3 as it seems more compact...

I think it depends on the effective resolution at first logon. I get different amounts depending on whether I inject the video drivers before first logon but I haven't paid enough attention to come to any conclusion. Once the menu is built changing drivers has no effect.

I had to reinstall older build (10051 in this case) and upgrade manually to 10130 via ISO, and voila got the 4 columns.

Still cannot figure what key that responsible for that
