Change old low HDD to a CF card?

    on the software side i think in winpe forums you can achieve that.

    What does WinPE have to do with it?

    You just have to have CF which presents itself as fixed, some do (more expensive), some don't, some can be changed with manufacturer utilities

    You do need to research it

    Buy CF from manufacturer that allows bit change, it seems you not going to get anywhere otherwise

    Just get over it. But IDE HD for few $ from fleebay

    I don't want IDE HDD, I want only the fastest HDD - eg. SSD ;) And I wonder, if there is flash upgrade for these SanDisk cards - since the bit is in the firmware, then having the firmware itself + means of flashing it equals solution ;)
