I have win7 32-bit installed. I finally saved enough to buy 24 GB of RAM so I can run memory intensive CAD/CAM software, which means I need to run win7 64 bit. Is there a way to install/change to 64 bit from 32 bit without doing a fresh install and losing all my existing programs and settings?

No, I'm running 32bit but downloaded the win7 file from Mr Acrsn's link and read the text both 32 and 64 and its sizes too.
    thanks,
