Change Ultimate to Professional

    hello guys, I just have few small questions, hope someone can answer them:
    Windows 7 Ultimate is activated on my computer via BIOS mod.

    1. Is it possible to change Win7 Ultimate to Win7 Professional without installing the whole OS again? I am thinking about changing to a retail key or SPL key

    2. If I decide to purchase a retail key what commands are needed in cmd in order to deactivate the offline activation and to enter a retail key?

    change "ProductName" from "Windows 7 Ultimate" to "Windows 7 Professional" in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion. Finally put in ur Win7 install dvd and "Upgrade"....

    sometimes you need to change the product version also in the same registry location

    so meaning i will change the PRODUCTID from Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 7 Professional

    then change the EditionID from Ultimate to Professional right??

    does this work vice versa? like changing windows 7 professional to ultimate???

    And exactly why would you want to do this, since it would be a downgrade?

    I dunno but if they want pro why not just use windows7_iso_image_edition_switcher or eicfg_removal_utility before install. Maybe their just curious...lol
