Dear Friends, First of I would like to thank the moderators and administrators for accepting my profile. This is my first post. I have a Sony Vaio SVE 15113 En with Genuine windows 7 home basic 64 bit. As this OS came with the laptop it has all the unwanted software's which I want to get rid and have a clean windows 7. I would like to change this home basic 64 bit to home basic 32 bit. I have read in this forum or somewhere else that one can download any windows 7 ISO(32 bit) and using eicgf tool, make it a Universal windows 7 package and then can do a clean install of the OS(home basic 32 bit rather than 64 bit) using the same key I got while purchasing the laptop. Is it possible guys?. Could you help me? Thanking everyone in advance for the reply.
You can not change from 64bit to 32bit or vice versa! If you have 64bit OS and want 32bit, you'll need to download the OS as 32bit!
Thanks for the replies guys. Well the laptop I am having just has 2 Gb Ram, So i have heard that 64 bit work more faster and efficiently with more than 3 GB Ram. That is the reason why I want to change down to 32 bit. Now my question is if I download a 32 bit windows 7 ISO image and then using ei.cfg editor make it a universal windows 7 install disk, can I use the same key (home basic 64 bit key) to install the home basic 32 bit version? Thank you
You could always get another 2GB ram, however its your choice. As for your key, I don't think its possible to use a x64 key on a x32 OS. Can others confirm this?
The key is for Windows 7 32bit & 64bit!! But you will be limited to the Home Basic version with that key. Instead you could use to download the Ultimate version and use Daz Loader for to activate or check to mod your BIOS to SLIC 2.1, may id had done already, check the BIOS forum for it!
Oops! Thanks Tito! Get tired after 18h on my feet's! So it's no problem for the OP! Than I would suggest to move to Ultimate! Runs well on just 2GB memory as 32bit!
Thanks everyone for the replies. So if I do as suggested by you PISTHAI , TITO and others , will I be wasting a genuine windows key. I mean in order to install Win 7 Ultimate, I will have to use windows loader because I don't have a genuine win 7 ult key. I wont be able to update windows also for the fear of being blacklisted. I hope you will guide me.
I hope I am not annoying you all. So what you all are suggesting me is to go ahead and download Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and then apply the Daaz Loader. Once again thank you for all your valuable replies.
You can backup your oem activation, with OEM Bios slic table with Advanced Tokens Manager, and download 32-bit media. After format and install 32-bit OS and restore activation. Advanced Tokens Manager can restore backuped 64-bit activation on 32-bit system
Everyone thank you for all your replies. This is out of topic but I think yesterday I saw someone with a weird name post matters of obscene nature in my thread. What the hell is this post Mr shawn24?. Moderators could you please check and remove this post and block this user.
