Does the SLIC contain windows version specific info?? If you have, for instance a Dell notebook with Vista Home pre installed, can you just use a Dell Ultimate recovery disk to "upgrade" yourself. I assume not but how is it prevented??
No Slic is not vista version specific as long as you have slic in bios and full Dell vista dvd you can install any version by editing the PID.txt serial number
