    Cool, someone responded.

Nope, you have to change the format Nero saves in to ISO, I can see you choose the default Nero nrg.
You change it by changing the drop down box when saving dialog is open in Nero. Just change to .ISO

    thanks for your effort.

If it's right, then the CRC-32 will be ffffffff

Thanks, yeah something is not right. Wrong CRC-32 hash.

Just about all CD's are copyrighted, makes no difference.

You can NOT get 2 different results from the same disk!
Unless the media is scratched or the drive is buggered

I just checked my media folder and the oldest XP I have is with SP2

    Thanks for checking Sebus.

Was hoping to make a XP thread with all info about various releases, from SP0 to SP3, however XP SP1 and SP1a are impossible to find anything on.
Did not bother with XP until SP2, used 2000 Professional until 4 years ago.

Dont meen to be a tool but why would you need to even have SP1?
SP3 is latest and most secure. Running SP1 means you have SP2/3 to install via updates anyway

Nero seems to give a true ISO, make sure you rip to .ISO, not .NRG

    Meant, Retail or OEM

Well, there is a SP2a and a SP2b too. Technically there is also a SP2c, but it was only a very limited release to include more serial numbers to big OEM's.

    Thanks Sebus

That particular CD is also the TPC 2003 VOL CD1 and is on technet.
    My HASH matches that one.

Which program did you use to rip, I use a portable version of Nero 10, gives a true ISO. Most programs pads the ripped ISO for some reason. Even some virtual drives pads too. While I have been playing with these ISO's from various sources, often I get an ISO from somewhere that is not right, HASH wise. So I mount it in VirtualCD from Elby and then rip it again with Nero 10 portable, and then I get the true verifiable HASH.
    ImgBurn pads too when reading.

That said, 75% or higher of Windows XP CD on the net are not real, most have had files altered in one way or another.

@ LateShift use UltraIso for your images. even the mere fact you are using a modified version of nero i,e portable i wouldn't trust it.
