    I just want to say thank you for this program it makes Windows 8 more usable now....I just don't know why MS had to even mess with the standard desktop UI it was enough to toss Metro into the mix but taking away the start menu was a real blow it!!!

    fantomas, a jak upodobnić menu startowe do tego z Windowsa 7? Chętnie przesiądę się na ósemkę, ale menu musi być takie jak z siódemki.

    Download and install Classic Shell 3.6.0 and in "Settings" you'll find everything.

    So you can change Start Button icon as well? Is there any Glass effect available for the menu?

    I don't want to replace my Windows 7 installed on SSD without confirming it :)
    It takes time :)

    This one is a bit of a hybrid using the xml file and start button from the Windows 7 skin and applying the setting to this glass skin
    So you get all the menu items from the Windows 7 skin.:cool: glass.jpg

    This is just "Metro" skin. You can choose it from skin list.
    Save this image

    start_button.png

    and move to: Program Files\Classic Shell\Skins

    And here is my config of Start Menu:

    View attachment Menu Settings.zip

    Unzip and load this xml file to Classic Shell.

    Download 'clrSharp2 Glass' skin by JohnEdwa at deviantart , and also the sevenVG skin from askvg .

    Apply the sevenVG skin ,remembering to use the option to load it from the xml file that comes with it. Then install the glass skin. You should now have a transparent start menu with floating sub menus and the same menu items as the Win 7 skin :D
