Hi guys, I just got a HP with W7 HP and its got a bunch of crap installed that i dont want so i'd like to do a clean install of W7 Ultimate. After reading the forums here, it looks like the best way to do it is this... -Backup the oem certificate using OEMdump. -Wipe the hard drive using a bootable cd of Active Killdisk. -Install W7 Ultimate w/SP1 with an iso linked on the forum. -Manually insert the OEM certificate i backed up. -Manually insert the HP Ultimate key from the forum. Does that sound right? Will i get an activated copy of W7 Ultimate that way? Did i miss anything? Any better ideas? Thanks, Billbob.
Yeah that sounds about right, a little overkill maybe? I would just install straight from usb, delete HDD from within W7 installation and use Daz loader.
Since Windows 7 came preinstalled on your notebook, you have a slic 2.1 bios, so i woudn't use a loader. Just manually insert the certificate and serial, and you will be fully activated. Nothing else needed!
