I have a non moddable machine but I have a good eom sticker key. I cant remember if I can use my regular retail disc, have to download a oem ISO or is there a way to modify it to activate it over the net. Whats the best way to use an OEM key? I have searched but there are so many paths and threads I cant narrow it down. Again, this is going on a HP DC7600 that the bios cant be modded but the oem sticker/key I have has never been used.
You only need SLIC 2.1 if you are activating with the OEM_SLP channel. If you are using the key on the COA sticker then that is OEM_NSLP channel and it doesn't require any SLIC. However this key will only work on one machine whereas OEM_SLP keys will work on any machine as long as SLIC 2.1 and a matching certificate are present. I know you got it activated but hopefully this will help people understand the process a little better.
