A colleague is ordering 6 Windows 10 Home laptops and I just wondered if it would be possible to set up one exactly how we want with all updates, programs etc and then clone it to the other 5?

I thought maybe all I needed to do was extract the key from the BIOS on the other 5 laptops and (like with Windows 8.1) enter it into the SLUI dialog and successfully activate Windows 10 on the other 5 laptops.

    Will this plan work??

I don't believe that is possible since activation is tied to hardware.

If you implement the Multi OEM project, maintaned by the_guardian: http://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/57880-Multi-OEM-Project you should be able to create 1 iso for all 6 laptops. This project extracts the windows/oem:Dm key automaticly from the bios and implements it during OOBE.

Edit: if all 6 laptops are identical, you can update and prepaire 1 laptop and create a bit for bit hdd/ssd clone using HDClone Pro or similar software.

Hmmm I'm confused as I did this procedure previously with 6 Windows 8.1 laptops and the process worked fine... all I did was extract the BIOS key from each laptop and it activated fine with the same True Image backup from the first laptop .... Oh well.. I'll try it when we get them..

I think dhjohns forgot you have genuine pre installed windows 10, then it's the same as with 8.1 i guess.
