Just wondering if anyone that has bought coffee Lake has tried using windows 7 on them? Does slipstreaming the USB drivers ( from the specific MB sites) into your w7 install work like it does in for Kaby Lake? Does the hardware check bypass thingy ( found here https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/fix-for-patches-with-cpu-detection-for-win7-win8-1.74049/ ) work for Coffee Lake? Looks like it should work but just would like to hear from people that have actually tried it.
According to an ASRock mobo manual, there's a compatibility support module, so in theory it should be possible to install 7 on a CL machine.
make sure you use UpdatePack7R2 and can be found here to download it, this will take care of this.. I noticed Rollup monthly is the problems, I always hide it, still updates.. They are trying push people use Windows 10!
The only issue I encountered so far is that if you try installing windows 7 on a notebook. As you know, you have to install the driver for the intel intergrated graphic before you can proceed with the driver installation for the notebook discrete graphic. So far, I am unable to find a compatible windows 7 driver for the intel intergrated graphic found in coffee lake processor.
Since MSFT doesn't support win 7 on kabylake and more current systems, it shouldn't be much of a surprise that manufacturers don't create drivers for it anymore
The other day, I had to install Windows 8.1 x64 in a system with Celeron G3930 (7th gen). No problems with all drivers except graphics one. Damn. I had to modify the inf file and install with Signature Verification disabled, then re-enabled it.
