Good afternoon, I need help! My Compaq CQ61, now show the message at the beginning "invalid serial number", and the result is that the windows7 says it is invalid, should I buy a copy of Windows 7. The windows came installed on the notebook ... and HP says the notbook is out of warranty. I searched the web and only find the page to download the latest BIOS. I've downloaded the program to edit the BIOS "DMIScope", but can not write the BIOS .... Thanks for the feedback. Actually it is the collection of tools that are used by HP technicians; so they deserve the actual credit. Anyway, if the DMI is properly programmed then it shouldn't give any error. Try a reinstall after programming.
