hello guys, I have an old Compaq Presario V2000 (EV889PA#ACJ) I want to upgrade its hdd, its PATA and just 60GB I searched for 2.5" ide drives and they are really costly as compaired to the sata drives. And it has a dvd drive(odd) which has its r/w head stuck at the center (m unable to fix it) and it wont read any disk, So I was thinking about getting an ide odd bay for sata hdd to upgrade my hdd.. will that work for the laptop ? Need your help in this regard TYSM in advance
I agree with Bat, On such an old pc, I doubt if even a SSD would make much improvement due to the slow bus speed... like 33 Mbps? Might be a waste of SSD usage
It should, but I wouldn't guarantee it. Depends mostly on whether or not your bios can pick up and detect if that sata drive is there, and then be able to boot from it
