computer starts up beep then shuts down

    Hi there,
    I am having problems with my computer, everything started when I change the CD/DVD drive after I replaced I turned on my pc and it started up then shuts down (first time) second time it made a beep sound turns on for like 4 second the shuts down. thank you for your help :biggrin5:

    Double check connectors to CD/DVD drive, or even disconnect cables to see if problem still persists.

    I found the problem, I think when I replace the cd/dvd drive I move the CPU fan brackets, so 2 supports were loose, causing the shut down for preventing CPU overheating. Thanks for the help :biggrin5:

    When computer beeps and shuts down withiut booting then either the CPU Fan is not working , or the Heatsink is loose and not sitting properly as you have found .
    Third is the memory . Pull out Memory Module one by one , then switch on comp to find the bad module.
