Conditions needed for free Windows 10 upgrade

    So I'm planning to clean install windows 7 and active it with Daz's loader and then upgrade it to windows 10 then clean install windows 10....

    The question is... can anyone tell me if I need to fully update windows 7 before I can upgrade to windows 10? I've tried to only clean install and validate and using windows media creation to upgrade with no success... So I'm trying to find the "optimal" way to go from clean windows 7 to clean windows 10...

    Conditions needed for free Windows 10 upgrade

    1. Pc
    1a. Access to electricity
    2. Windows 7 iso
    2a. Daz loader
    2b. Internet access
    3. Windows 10 iso
    4. USB stick
    5. Coffee
    6. Few spare nights

    You also may need

    1. Msmg tool
    2. Wim_tweak
    3. Portable updater
    4. Take ownership

    Yea I kinda read this but not sure if my english is just not good enough or the OP of the thread didn't write it down to specific enough for a dummy like me to understand and I tried to do as the guide says and kinda fail... I don't understand the wordings below:

    "2.1 Copy gatherosstate.exe from your downloaded Windows 10 10240 ISO to your installation which should be upgraded."
    what installation? my windows 7? when I did copy "gatherosstate.exe" to a random folder on my clean windows 7, it didn't generate anything... the only way I could get it to generate anything is to copy the whole content of ISO into a folder and run it from that folder.

    and again what is upgraded? the installation? which mean windows 7? more specific pl0x...

    If you installed Windows 7 and activated it then you go to control panel then system and click genuine Windows copy, open it in Explorer and validate Windows 7 copy as genuine.

    Then if you already downloaded Windows 10 just install it inside Windows 7 means upgrade your windows 7 when installation will finish you will have windows 10. Then you need access to internet, go to control panel system and activate Windows online.

    Then if you want clean install

    Format your hdd and install windows 10 from fresh and then activate online
