Hey all, I am using Inspiron N411Z with Conexant CX20671-21Z. As Dell do not have updated drivers for windows 10, I have to depend on windows default sound driver. I found this high definition audio provided by windows 10 not very stable, as sometime the headphone audio is not working until I restart my windows. I have force install through the Conexant .inf file, and the sound appears to hav some cracking. Any way I can get this driver to work on windows 10? I have no luck searching for a more recent version online.
Go to device manager > sound > your sound device properties > details > select hardware ids from dropdown menu, and tell me what it says for VEN_XXXX&DEV_XXXX.
I also have the same problem with Insipiron 7520 and Conexant CX20672-21Z. My hardware ID is HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_506E&SUBSYS_10280572&REV_1000
Try this?? h t t p : // forums.laptopvideo2go.com/topic/30705-conexant-hd-audio-device-8652150-for-windows-81/
Ok, this one work well for the sound card. I am using the toshiba one. But now it is showing Microphone not plugged in. I have internal microphone, and it is working when using the windows default sound driver. If there is any solution kindly share. Thank you.
Sorry for taking so long to get back with you. I slept. It appears you're getting the best help I could give you already going by the replies I'm seeing by MDL peeps. So it appears there's no proper driver for windows 10 yet and you'll have to wait until there is which means you'll have to stick with the driver that makes it the most usable. The plus side is you just learned about the ven_xxxx&dev_xxxx trick that'll allow you to google drivers for the exact hardware you have, no matter what type hardware it is. No more downloading the wrong driver that won't install. Good luck with your audio issues. Make a system restore point before every different driver attempt so you can fix a non-booting system caused by a driver that caused a boot-loop (safe mode doesn't always work).
yes, I read that from Dell's website before. So I am deciding whether or not to stick with 10 or downgrade back to windows 7.
Some sort of the drivers can be found out from the Windows Update Catalog (catalog.update.microsoft.com) and find out the driver for the device by searching by the device name or hardware ID for that. For this hardware ID, that's the driver version 8.66.16.50 is available for Windows 10 if find from there.
I tried, can't install as well. Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device. I think what @erpsterm35 say is true. Have to take own risk for upgrading this machine.
well i also have problem with my x-fi titanium... wait new drivers... hope get one new drivers for u too
