    Hey guys,

I'm planning an install of Win 7 on my dell xps m1530 tonight. Now I've seen a few topics that suggest that I wont be able to activate windows on this machine (dell) using any of the loaders, I will have to do a bios flash. Is this true, or is there a software loader that might work?

If I had to install, then create a disk image, could I use the installation unactivated for 120 days (with the rearm command) and then simply restore the disk image and rearm for another 120days? until I either get my hands on a loader that works, or a legal copy?

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, I'm doing this on my work computer so I cant have it deactivate in 30 days. So I'm just asking to make 100% sure I will be able to use it for quite some time before having to reinstall.

    Thanks all
    Craig

    Thanks for the info guys.

do you have a link to a bios thread where they discussing the m1530 bios. I cant seem to find a solid discussion about it. All I can find are dribs and drabs of info.

Also, would the "rearm x3 restore image rearm x3 again" work?

I would just go with a BIOS mod. The Dell/Phoenix BIOS modding process seems to be pretty stable and well-tested...you should not have any problems going this route.
