I am really confused about which edition I need. I have a legit Windows 8 Pro 64-bit key. I want to get the new .ISO with the new update in it. I was trying to research the different versions of N and VL, trying to see what they mean. One thing I found out was that one comes without WMP installed. Is that absolutely the only difference and absolutely nothing else is different? It doesn't have any registry changes or anything else? Currently, the .ISO I have is the one that has WMP installed. But if that is absolutely the only change, WMP being not installed, I would rather go with that one because I use VLC. Can someone please provide me with a magnet for the one I need? It would be much appreciated.

It means that iso has 2 SKUs: Core and Pro.
    N means without WMP.

    Downloading!

Ugh! I am so sorry, but I do not know what that means. Core and Pro?

You need to install with a windows 8.1 gvlk key then activate with your legit Windows 8 Pro key.

Read it. That only makes me have more questions. If I understand correctly, VL keys cannot be used until after Windows has competed it install? Is that right?

I am going to write down your key you gave me to use for the installation process. But just in case, can you provide me with a magnet to Windows 8.1 with the update VL?

Tell me, your legit key, how did you purchase it? I ask to understand the channel it belongs. :)

It came with a laptop I junked a year ago after it fell 3,000 ft. from the top of El Cap in Yosemite National Park.

Oh, I assume it's an OEM key. Then that key belongs to that combination: laptop + Windows 8 Pro. Then I assume you want to install Win8.1 with Update on another PC. Sorry, but my knowledge is limited in this case, maybe someone can help us later on.

Well, additional info I can provide is that it was a SAGER meaning it was indeed an OEM key. Which means I more or less bought a Windows copy from Newegg or something like that separately. I did have to call Microsoft and explain what happen in the past. That was a year ago. I have maybe reinstalled Windows 10 times from that point in time. I never had an issue with activating Windows 8.1 Pro on my current rig.

As Mister X told if it's a OEM Key then the Key is tied to that particular system and can't be used for the other system. the only option you have now is to use KMS Key

I am 100% sure you are wrong about this as I have been doing it already for a year at least. I said OEM key before and I should have said retail.

Then Microsoft provided you with a Retail key, so you can go back to my previous posts and do what I said.

Don't ever use, in this specific case a VL edition, OK? Keep downloading the iso file I posted before.

Then can I use my retail key instead of the one you gave me?

For installation use the one glvk I gave to you, then use the other one (yours) for activation. That's it.
ed- Procure an Internet connection at the time of activation, i.e. when you insert your own key.
