I have been using win7 build 6956 for a while but I want to upgrade to build 7000. In order to do that I have to clear my hdd and install build 7000. Is it worth it? Does the os really eat up your music files? I am justt looking for your opinions on the matter.

there is a hotfix available for the MP3 issue. As far as difference between 6956 and 7000 a lot is compatibility improvements and more OS refinements. Its not like you are going to get an 200% increase in speed or anything. Activation wise there are plenty of patches out there to activate the betas and keep them from expiring (I don't recommend the use of these as it modifies system files and hampers feedback, but that is my opinion not any sort of fact).

So is it worth it to upgrade to 7000 over 6956, maybe but there are not any show stoppers that would make me tell you to go one way or the other. I always like to run the latest builds that are available because they are more refined than the previous build.

1.The hotfix is avaiable via microsoft update. It appears microsoft gave alot of people the same keys so you can probably find a key to activate.I did :D

2.I am currently using messenger in windows 7 but its not the beta messenger.I used the one downloaded from msn.com :D works fine and always has.
