Connecting XBOX 360 to Home Theater?

    I use TOSLINK to connect from my xbox 360 to my home theatre system, but this isn't working as I can not hear any sound.

    I have a sony DAV-LF1 home theatre system.

    I have went to xbox settings and made sure its 5.1 dolby digital, please help.

    i have mine hooked into my tv. and my tv out to my surround. works fine for me at 5.1 that way.

    No.. Can't, TV's wall mounted. It should just connect to the home theatre and be as simple as that.. help anyone?
