Cons. Prev.: no more updates? / media centre not working

    Hi,

    I am still using the Consumer Preview of Windows 8. Reason: With my old hardware (no SSE2, NX etc.) I can't use any more recent version (release preview, RTM).

    1) Since yesterday, Windows Update stopped working for me.
    Error code: 80072EFD
    Windows could not search for updates (or whatever it is in the English version)

    2) The media centre included in my version of the Consumer Preview didn't ever work. It does not even start - I get a werfault.exe instead.


    Anyone still playing around with the Consumer Preview?
    Can you still use Windows Update?
    Does Media Centre work for you?


    Or is it even by intention (Microsoft) to no longer offer any windows updates?

    Use Windows 7. Mucking around with beta software is pointless.

    Like microsoft has nothing better to do then keeping beta software updated :rolleyes:
