It's always better to have pro-active protection against known/unknown types of malware... Besides I'm eager to translate its interface to Spanish language. I have contacted a person at Blue Ridge Networks already, she seems to be interested, hopefully she gives me the opportunity.
I have tried a half a dozen a/v programs this year trying to find one that does a great job and suits my needs. I think I may have settled on one, yet always willing to give the latest new thing the once over. Will be happy to share my two cents worth. Yes please. I've been looking for security software that doesn't need to actively scan the HD and causing slow downs.
My experience: When I used it for a first time I thought, OMG how to configure it, it blocks too much for me. Then I've found AppGuard thread on other forums and Barb_C helped me a lot, explained, answered my questions and gave hints about custom rules. Then I realized it works great. I saw many blocked activities - mostly blocked when Chrome and AdGuard tries to read other process memory. In contradistinction to many anti-virus software AppGuard is really light on resources as I didn't notice any system slowdown, even on my netbook. Why I need it: I'm IT student; there only one semester left so I need to write graduate work. It's gonna be about Windows 7 security for home users. AppGuard is one of the programs I will describe. I need a license to have more time to know and try the software. 10 days is just not enough. Also I would like to help with Polish translation if developers have plans to make this app available in more languages (I already asked them).
