So i am looking for a software to easily add things to context menu, but since windows 10 can be very volatile and buggy, and editing the shell like that (via reg) can cause your user to cease to login, especially when updates occur and break compatibility with your preivous eddits I am wondering if there is instead a osftware that add stuff to context menu but instead of doing reg edits it does it in memory so its only temporary/while it runs
First explain how it is done or what it is, anyway this is the first time I hear that the context menu is in memory.
Obviously any program that does that use the registry. If there is a stock feature since win95 why reinvent the wheel? Perhaps I can't see how a context menu addition can broke the login. In the worst case you login but explorer don't start, but you must do something really stupid. Whatever in that case just push CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to get the taskmanager and launch regedit (or autoruns.exe) to remove/edit the failed addition.
Boot into a virtualized environment - e.g. Shadow Defender - and make changes. Use the system for what you want. When done restart - and all changes will be rolled back. To make it faster - create a reg file with all the changes you want and make them with one click, after starting the system in a virtual environment.
