Hello guys, After being so much happy with my vista x64 install, I have a big problem with one my devices. I have an D-Link DSL-200 Modem (Conexant USB ADSL WAN Modem) but I just have the drivers for vista x86 version. I can't install it for Vista x64 and I think the drivers do not exist. Is there any way to convert these drivers from x86 version to x64? If possible, can that be installed and signed? Windows update recognizes this modem as Conexant usb adsl wan modem, but it doesn't work. I wonder if a similar device under another brand exists for vista x64. Thank you so much for your time and possible help.
Download driver genius you can use it for 30 days trial it will download your drivers for x64 and x86
@Urie Thnx for the tip. I will try. I tried to search drivers in the Genius site and it didn't find any for Vista x64 even for Win xp 64bit (although there are drivers for win xp x64 in d-link website). Thnx again
such a shame, I can't find x64 drivers for D-link dsl-200. this adsl modem works with usb only and I need one that works without electricity. is there any adsl modem express card that works with vista x64? Maybe I should try winxp x64 but I am afraid to loose in performance. cheers
@dukenukeme Thnx so much for your reply. But, let me be honest with you. I didn't get it. Don't get me wrong. Are suggesting to use linux in a virtual machine in order to use this modem? If I got it right, would you be able to remaster Ubuntu and include this drivers in a live cd disk? P.M please...
If the driver is just an inf file, with no associated .sys file, then it can be converted. In this case, its just an information file telling the system how to use it. This was common on old dialup modems, but not sure about whether that can be done on only a few adsl modems.
dsl-200_rev_Ax DSL-200_rev_Bx dsl-200_rev_Cx there are 3 hardware revisions for this modem only dsl 200 rev Cx has vista drivers ? (but no vista 64 ? ) i presume you have this exact rev_Cx modem ? yes , using virtual mashine in x86_64 host and 32 bit guest is sugestion but i am not sure is driver from my slax-based-VM adequate for dsl 200 so you may try xp as guest also . its allready on cd image, the folowwing files : virtual_driver__applience.part3.rar virtual_driver__applience.part2.rar virtual_driver__applience.part1.rar i have problematic upload and have split 60 MB ISO image in three parts not ubuntu , other linux this is.
so they hadn't made drivers for my dlink usb DWLG132 wifi for 64 bit, 32 bit but no 64 so i thought it was going to be useless, it's old. i decided to open the inf file of the 32 bit vista driver in notepad and what do i see? this section: Code: [DLINK.NTX86] ; DisplayName Section DeviceID %DWLAG132% = DAG132_DEV.ndi, USB\VID_2001&PID_3A01 %DWLG132C% = DG132C_DEV.ndi, USB\VID_2001&PID_3A03 %WUA2340% = WUA2340_DEV.ndi, USB\VID_07D1&PID_3A08 %ALICEG132% = ITG132_DEV.ndi, USB\VID_07D1&PID_3A0B %DWA120% = DWA120_DEV.ndi, USB\VID_07D1&PID_3A0D %GDTM% = GDTM.ndi, USB\VID_0ACE&PID_BF61 did a search on the dlink site for WUA 2340 (and others on that list) and got a 64 bit Vista driver for that old wifi key (never had 64 bit driver for vista), never faster!!! worked for my old epson scanner too, i ran the vista setup and it told me the o/s isn't supported so i used universal extractor to extract a data.cab and inside were a bunch of inf files and i used them via control panel to update, scanner works!! whql for both
@Mustang Sally why are you adding confusion now ? i guess it is uselles to try actually to solve something on windows forum
ADSL Faceplates - Is there one in particular which is better quality? I'm curious as to how much the quality of these ADSL faceplates differ. I'm considering getting one to negate the need for micro-filters everywhere, and also to provide me with the best, most efficient filtering possible (so as to eliminate any possible interference and possibly give my ADSL sync speeds a bit more of a boost).
