Hi all, I'm looking to installing the final build of 2008 R2 and thought it would be nice to activate it using one of the eval keys posted on this forum. My only concern is this, will I be able to convert it to an OEM edition when a BIOS Mod and OEM Key eventually get released. Look forward to your replies
I guess the first start to this discussion would be finding the differences in the cd images of trial vs full version. Which files are different, etc. edit: I had a wrong idea, i forgot this was server OS here
To be honest, I just assumed that the ISO Images would be the same, and the functionality gets unlocked based on the Key entered. Downloading the Eval ISO as we Speak to test tomorrow
I downloaded the Eval ISO of 2008 R2 and I was given all the choices for install without modification of the ISO when I installed in a virtual machine.
Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise Which versions can be used for slp2.1 ie bios activation Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise Which version volume, retail, oem or evaluation -allows slp2.1 ie bios activation- a previous post mentions evaluation what about other versions any help would be helpfull thanks
they all do, the channel changes when you input a OEM key using the software license manager. So once OEM keys are available then you can use an OEM key, cert file, and loader/bios to activate.
