Good evening to all I had the misfortune to make the latest Windows 7 updates & now I have a message telling me that the copy of Windows is not authentic...

I followed several procedures but nothing works ... how to do ?!

    Thanks :)

Only the old activation methods, mentioned by @Daz in the Windows Loader threads and specifically removewat can be undone by windows updates.

What method of activation did you use?

I used RemoveWAT 2.2.5 but after the last updates I got this message...

Windows Loader 2.2.2 DAZ does not work at home because my drive is in GPT & I have an error message...

REMOVEWAT is a fake activation, it corrupts systemfiles, and as you noticed it's undone by MSFT.

After using removewat you can try WATFix, but no guarentee it will fix all file corruptions and then an inplace upgrade or even a full clean install will be the only way to fix it.

For win 7 on GPT you can find all solutions here:

    No.
    The only good solutions are:
    BIOS mod
    Daz loader
    KMS on Enterprise / Professional

It seems it's still damaged by removewat. If you cannot resolve this you would have to go for a clean installation either way.

    Which version is it? Ultimate?
    sfc /scannow did work?

To run sfc /scannow, open an elevated cmd and run the command sfc /scannow

By reading what people do suggest! Enthousiast has posted a link to Daz WATfix. There are instructions. Make sure you have your w7 DVD / ISO in case you would need to go for repair boot.

Please keep in mind. Make a backup of your data. Fiddling with a corrupt activation might lead to boot issues.

TBH best would be you make a clean installation of original professional again.

    I understand ... a relocation is a lot of work ...

Why Windows Loader 2.2.2 DAZ is not compatible with GPT drives ? It's a shame...

It's based on MBR scheme and GRUB. BIOS calls MBR, MBR calls Daz loader, Daz loader calls win bootsector.

Keeping GPT you have 2 options (assuming WATfix does repair).

-Check for a confirmed BIOS mod here at MDL and activate it using DAZ loader which does not install the loader then, but the needed certificate and key.
    -Activate with KMS

Maybe ask a 14 year old kid on the local playground to do it?

Here's an unusual answer.... buy a legit key and use that so you won't need to re-install

After using removewat, i would do a clean install anyway;)

But if watfix is ran succesfully, and it undid all the system file corruptions, and considering he is on Pro, he could simply run kms_vl_all and be done with it:)
