Cortana can hear me but is not reacting [SOLVED]

I have an issue with Cortana in Windows 10 ENT 1607 64 bit. Everything updated.

Cortana can hear me wll when i say "hey cortana" but it doesn't act on it. The window is shown but after that nothing.
That small part that says "listening" is not there when I give the commands. Although Cortana heard me.

I tried resetting it with the know method in powershell, with deleting the package from one account then going back to my account, and then re-registering it and it still does nothing.

It can hear me but it is not acting.

What might be the issue and what might be the remedy?

I have had the same issue with Pro after running Glary Utilities Registry Cleaner. I don't use it any more for that reason. The only fix was going back to a restore point where she worked, or else a reinstall.

Question tho, although I reset it and re-registered it after the cleaning it is still not working.

 

Question:
Couldn't you restore the registry entries deleted previously with Glary instead of making a full restore?

Reg cleaners do nothing, apart from break things, they don't speed anything up, there is no reason to run them, and 9/10 times they make things worse

 

You may want to look under sound in control panel.


Its been noticed that if there is more then one sound device it gets confused as to what it suppose to listen to.
Considering that webcam, mic's and hdmi on video cards all carry sound it can add up quick.
By going in and disabling whats not being used she suddenly starts acting correctly.

If none of the above works you can try buying her flowers she a woman and you may have pissed her off

 

She listens to me, but chooses to ignore me.

I confirm that Glary Utilities was making all the confusion with Cortana deleting some important registry entries.
I used the restore option in the software and it worked.

Guys, I learned my lesson with the registries.

So once again @dhjohns thank you very much for pointing at it. I really appreciate it.

 

@MrMagic yep is all as ever I think the best tool for one O.S. clean is your owner that have brain lol
