Could I download this update (KB971033) after activation by DAZ Loader?

The reason why I ask, is my ESET Smart Security 4 shows me that my computer is not fully updated and this message and the orange color of ESET Smart Security 4 annoys me as it should be green.

Can anybody advise, I want to download this update but afraid that by installing this update, it may reveal that the windows is using Loader and not genuine?

    Thank you for your help.
    Mohamed

Thank you hbhb for your reply. Fortunately, my ESET Smart Security 4 has turned to green (healthy) color, so, no need to install this update so far...

In my opinion, you shouldn't decide which updates to install, based solely on what ESET (or any security software for that matter) thinks is missing from your system. If you want to be 'safe' (at least as much as possible), keep a close watch at this thread, where new updates are introduced several times a week. There, you can help yourself and decide which hofixes you need to install in order to have a more resilient system. Besides, many people are using this work by SoLoR, so if an update is suspicious of messing up with the loader, you will certainly get to know pretty quick.

Back on the subject, the Daz loader deals with KB971033 and in the worse case scenario, all you might have to do is uninstall/install the loader to re-enable activation, so don't worry. More details for that here.

That is one Update I don't load.........Don't like the "Phone Home" idea regardless if it de-activates me or not.......

    KB971033....stays off!!

Absolutely, you are right, x86 :). I will keep an eye on SOLOR thread and download the required hotfixes, indeed it is a good one.

KB971033...allows your computer to "Phone Home" to Micro$hit ....to check for authentic license key...

thus de-activating your OS if you are using anything 'cept a legal key...as in loaders and activators....

some pass the test and stay activated, however....sometimes, others are tagged as not legitimate...

Yes, acrsn. I already validated my windows copy through internet explorer on Microsoft website and I'm downloading updates from Microsoft "Windows update" regularly, besides, I never got non-genuine message.
