I recently bought a second hand computer off my mate,
    everything was working fine,
I turned my computer on this morning and it wont boot at all,
it says CPU Fan Failed - Have System Serviced Immediately!!!, System Will Shutdown In 5 Seconds,
    Then it dies,
    Please help,

    HP Pavilion 510a
    1.2GHz Intel Celeron
    384Mb Ram
    40Gb HDD

    buy a new fan..

have you opened the case, had a look to see that the fans not blocked, that its connected, is it spinning when the pc starts?

maybe it is working and the system protection in the bios is detecting it as not working, dissable shutdown on fan error if thats the case..

im sure you can pick up a new fan for under £10

if you read my post, you would see that i said that if it was confirmed the fan was infact working, and the system reporting it as not in error....

but you can also see that the issue has been resolved by replacing the fan, which was a bit obvious really...
