Hello to all -first post here. Respect.

After searching this forums for a couple of days i couldnt find any info on Bios mod - replacing / updating new cpu microcodes in bios.

    My computer:
    Lenovo ThinkPad L412

I have acquired a 740QM processor which is roughly same Wattage as M540 and is same socket: PGA988

So far after putting it in computer starts for about0,5 second and shuts down without making any beep or post info.

So far i have 2 suspects:
    1. There is no gpu on the i7 - compared to I5, and 45nm on i7 vs 32nm on i5

    2. bios "Whitelist" blocks cpu / does not have a right microcode.

Closest threead i found on this matter is:
    forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/24648-Add-CPU-support

Could anybody shed a light on the matter?
Which part did i get right / am wrong on.
    :)

    Big thanks.
    Cheers!.
