Hi, today i got my new laptop, the factory restore DVD is for Windows 7 Professional 32-bit.

    The laptop is a DELL.

I wish to run Windows 7 Professional 64-bit but it did not come with a 64-bit DVD or any option. I tried to install Windows 7 Pro 64-bit (OEM CD) but it doesnt accept the windows serial key on the inside of the battery compartment of my laptop.

In the past i took my XP OEM CDs, downloaded some OEM bios files, added them to the file strcuture and remade the ISO, worked great. I was then able to create factory DVDs that would work on specific vendor BIOS so it didnt need a license key.

I would like to do the same but for Windows 7. I am licensed for Windows 7 from my DELL machine serial sticker, but i am at a loss as howto proceed and convert the OEM Win7 disk into a pre-activated disk for DELL machines.

Appreciate your comments and help in advance, sorry if newb question.

    Thanks,

    Chris:confused:

use the OEMSLP key from this forum when you install 64bit and also the certificate..

You cab also use the dell OEM folder from sources project thread.

Is there any way to include the cert and key in the DVD like there was with XP?
