Sorry if this has been asked before but how do you make a WinXP sp3 cd from msdn bootable? I need a bootable xp cd for my eeepc. I used imgburn to burn the iso but when i tried to boot it from my external cd drive, I kept getting an error saying "insert boot media in boot device". I tried to install it from usb but I got the same error. The external drive works fine because it loaded my created vista cd perfectly, but i don't want vista on my eeepc. Is there any way to make the msdn iso bootable?

    Thanks

If it is a original MSDN disk it is boot-able, maybe used bad/cheap cdr media? try burning on slowest speed

Hmm not sure. I used the same disks for burning vista and windows 7 and they both boot fine. I burned the dvd at 1x. The usb version failed as well with the same error so I don't think its the dvd.

Is there any other way to make xp bootable?

I was using dvd. Tried cd now and it booted and installed perfectly. Seems as though xp won't boot from dvd.

    Thank you.

Hmm. Could be that or the bios. Comp didn't want to boot from usb either. The same iso failed from usb and dvd, but booted from cd. Do you add anything to your xp installs when you use dvd?
