    Which version of Acronis do you guys use for this. True Image Home 2010 or Backup&Restore Workstation. Any coments, pros or cons of both.

    Some good info there but could you please use code tags as xml will be unusable. example.
    Code:
                <DiskConfiguration>
                    <WillShowUI>OnError</WillShowUI>
                    <Disk wcm:action="add">
                        <DiskID>0</DiskID>
                        <WillWipeDisk>false</WillWipeDisk>
                        <ModifyPartitions>
                            <ModifyPartition wcm:action="add">
                                <Active>true</Active>
                                <Format>NTFS</Format>
                                <Label>Main</Label>
                                <Letter>C</Letter>
                                <Order>1</Order>
                                <PartitionID>1</PartitionID>
                            </ModifyPartition>
                        </ModifyPartitions>
                    </Disk>
                </DiskConfiguration>

    Pfff.... you're making this way too difficult

    I make a backup image with Paragon on whatever partition. With the Paragon recovery cd I can approach the image and write it over the C-partition. In about 10 minutes all is recovered. Look for the program and cd in those famous torrent sites. :)

    Hi, I get a error when trying to do this command

    C:\Windows\System32\Reagentc.exe /setreimage /path R:\Recovery\WindowsRE /target C:\Windows

    Perhaps you've already got it enabled. Try Reagentc /info. If it's enabled it's probably defaulted to c:\windows\system32\recovery\winre.wim... (You don't have to have a separate partition)...
    you can then disable it "Reagentc /disable" & try again with the above command..

    Once you boot into WinRE you can have a custom recovery, using ghost, Paragon, whatever.. If you have the unattend & install it all from USB key it's really quick...

    Don't forget if your setting this up for your mum she won't even know how to change the boot order... How about the lamer m8 who goes to every site & infects his/her system every bl$%dy day...

    Because they will not listen...........................ok, Acronis is not free (well :D) and some others like to expirement or complicate their life too much.
    I started in this forum because I had no idea of Bios and learnt and listened and stop using loaders but lots are deaf and do not want to listen that either.
