All I can say you is that Windows Setup program (Win7) can't read or is incompatible with ESD files. The rest of your questions are already answered by professional MDL members quite before. Don't keep awaiting anything and DO a professional search in these forums.
To use esd with Win7 you need to use the setup files from 8+ as the Win7 setup files were built before esd so don't recognize them. Download a 8.1 x86 iso and replace the boot.wim and install.wim with your Win7 boot.wim and install.esd. You will see the normal Win8 setup screens but will install Windows 7. If you want to take it a little bit further you can use ResourceHacker to replace the images inside the Win8 setup .dlls with the images from Win7 .dlls to make it look like the Win7 setup files. For the 'activation' questions, look at the MultiOEM Project and/or the $OEM$ folder
please explain to me how i can use Resource Hacker v4.2.5 to replace the images inside the Win8 setup .dlls with the images from Win7 .dlls?
There is no one tell you how to use of Resource Hacker in MDL. For example find and search "how to use Resource Hacker" by you self and so on. Almost IAmTheDude shown the way how to fix your problem. Rest of them how to imply, that is your job which means study, learn knowledge, times, and effort. Good luck.
I do,nt understand what you mean Mr.x! All I need now how I can replace the images inside the Win8 setup .dlls with the images from Win7 .dlls?
If this is for personal use then I do not see the need to use AIO DVD 5 you could use two DVD 5 or bootable USB thumbdrive.
It is not for personal use urie, it is for share with other users, i do everything except how to replace the images inside the Win8 setup .dlls with the images from Win7 .dll, to make the dvd orignal windows 7 setup image, i do a lote of effort and interseting in learning more to complete my project, the forums made to exchange knowledge and learn.
I made AiO's containing win 7 sp1 and win 10 (for installing 7 sp1 and upgrading it to 10 to get a digital entitlement/HWID) and upgrading to 10 with the iso worked just fine. I also make (every month) win 10 AiO's and they also upgrade to the appropiate win 10 version from 7/8.1.
Not much these days I agree. But many users (novices and techs) reinstall Windows without performing a HDD re-format. They run a Win7 iso or DVD within Windows 7. Afaik this kind of installation works from single sku DVD or iso but not from AIOs isos or DVDs or USB sticks. I'm speaking from the Latin-american point of view... Lots of people do that in Mexico and many other countries.
You know that all original win 7 iso's contain 4 (x64)-5(x86) win 7 editions? Tonight i will install vista and use my 7 AiO iso to perform an upgrade. In the past i've succesfully used my 8.1 AiO iso's to upgrade from 7 to 8.1, 8.0 to 8.1 and to 8.1 core > pro.
I know all skus are contained in there. Hopefully all goes well with your upgrade process. Please come back and tell us. Do you mind to share your config to achieve that. This is a quote that applies to me as well: I use to make Win8.1 AIOs w/7 indexes.
Yes I know Murphy78 did say that, I replied mine could but murphy78 could be talking about his huge AiO's which have all (7), 8.0, 8.1 and 10 editions in it, than it could be that upgrading doesn't work because the are more upgrade choices then in a 2 edition (Sku) iso.
