    1. Since I don't want to screw up the mainboard of my older VIAO laptop that has XP pre-installed I want to create my own Sony OEM XP-Pro disc. All I need to do is just have to follow the same instructions of the OEM guide in Vista section?

    2. Since I cannot find a cert here in XP Section can i use the Oemdump from Vista section to find get my certificate? Or does it work different when creating a XP-OEM disc?

    Would be glad if someone can help me out here :eek:

    No you cannot use the details posted for making a vista oem disk for xp they use completely different ways of activation. Do you have a sony machine ? or is it home built search forums for OEMBIOS.exe and run that, then post results.
    Wee will go freom there and advise:)

    First of all thanks for the fast reply again Urie! :)

    I have Sony Laptop with XP-home on it... I want to stay with XP on that laptop since the hardwareperformance is not that great for Vista....
    OK i will download that OEMBIOS.exe when I find the time to format that laptop.. Just wanted to have a brief information about the steps of creating OEM XP-Pro disc :D to get all the OEM SLP keys and other information ready before getting started with a clean installation :D

    If he has XP preinstalled the correct oembios files can be extracted from the system.
    testt0r, open this folder:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\CatRoot\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}

    Locate the OEMBIOS.CAT file.
    Add that file to a rar archive.
    Open the rar archive and post the CRC32 value that is furthest to the right
    here.
    I guess the CRC should be 376E13C7 or F08705E9 ...
