Hi All, Is there a way to customize the Right-Click Start Menu Command in Windows 8.1 (like changing the "Command Prompt" to "Windows Update"...! TIA
Yes, there is a way if you know how to modify the context menu. The windows update is wuapp.exe. I just tried on my windows 8.1 and it works fine.
I never said he did. I was just pointing out a fact that your suggested method requires clicking on a specific icon rather than right-clicking any empty space for an easy access to windows update.
Then just create a shortcut to the following: C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WinX \YourChoiceofGroups
I created a new shortcut in Group3 and name it "Windows Update", the command is "%windir%\system32\control.exe /name Microsoft.WindowsUpdate". Restarted Explorer, but it did not show in the menu!
By Creating Sortcut in WinX Not Working Because MS Using Some Type Validation For .lnk Files Before Adding Them in Right Click Context Menu.
The shortcut for Windows Update is "wuapp.exe" Sorry, I don't know how to modify the database for link files...
