one question, and depending on the answer I'll have a followup question/sugestion.
Did you write this? or are you simply advertising it since it's useful?

The best option I would imagine is to disable it at the services.

As it seems with the latest Insider Build 14986, if Defender is turned Off, WU will not work, instead will bring up a Update Fail! I had just tested that. I was get a WU Error already because I'd set Defender to Off in Settings. Just used (for to test) this Defender Control 1.2 for to enable Defender and the WU Error was gone!

That said, users of Insider Builds, may need to be aware of that!

Umm, no. WD, just like any other AV, only uses DisableAntiSpyware entry, but it keeps 4 services running, which cause problems sometimes.

It shows, when WD is really disabled, it is better to leave it as it is, to be able to reapply it, since policies are sometimes hassle to deal with.

Sordum provides well made and safe apps, it is just a false positive.

    TairikuOkami :

Everyone of the Tweaks in your Sig starts off with "USE AT OWN RISK AS IS WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND !!!!!"
It's kinda like asking a girl out for a date, she says OK, then hands you a contract that states:
I may bite your lips off if you attempt to kiss me, then again, maybe I won't.
This doesn't really make me want to ask you out for second date :D

Thanks for your comments - All of them are valuable for us , we have a strange problem with Invincea (refuses reanalyzing)

Just remove it, why "control" something that must never be used?

    This...

Uninstalling/removing stuff can break something (I used nLite/vLite for years), simply disabling it is mostly harmless.

Unless one installs SCEP which on Windows 10 uses Defender (making it Managed)

You don't break anything using properly the dism packaging. It's there for a reason.

Defender is uninstallable from the UI in the server, and obviously any conscious sysadmin will uninstall it.

I have no idea if vLite uses dism r something of proprietary, but be sure that 99,9% of the times that something goes broken, the culprit is user's ignorance or distraction or stupidity, not a program's problem.

That seem a very stupid idea to me, did you try to install it on a W10 Defender free W10?

10 has some crazy unrelated dependencies, like store does not work without Windows Firewall service running or updates without DHCP.
