Dell 1501

    I wanted to do a clean install of Vista on my laptop without the Dell DVD, I used a standard DVD and now I am having problems getting it to activate properly, can someone slow walk me through activating this?

    Dell 1501
    Vista ultimate SP1

    This computer came with XP Home, they were supposed to send a vista upgrade but I never recieved it. I wonder if this computer does not have the SLIC?

    You can check to see if you have SLIC with ACPScope.
