Couldn't find an active link for the Dell Dimension 8400 A09 BIOS with SLIC 2.1 mod, so I modded myself.
Tested with Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (both 32bit and 64bit versions). Activated immediately after inserting Dell certificate and a Dell OEM key.

(forum won't allow me to post direct links, so the download link below needs to be decoded manually)

I realize this is an old thread (and an old PC), but why not use the loader with your OEM key?

And another response to this thread...I looked into many forums about CPU support for 64-bit (LGA775). They all say it can't be done. But I did find this CPU: E5800 SLGTG

Sorry if this thread resurrection is frowned on! :nono3:

The Dimension 8400 with A09 BIOS does indeed have 64-bit CPU support.
Within the BIOS setup, the Processor Info field will report "64-bit Technology = Yes (Intel EM64T)". You need to have a 64-bit CPU installed, of course. The *LATE* generation Pentium 4 Prescott CPUs are 64-bit and are supported by the 8400.

I installed a 64-bit Prescott CPU in an 8400, then installed Win7 x64, and it runs great. However, AFAIK, Dell does not officially support Win7 x64 on the 8400. But I still managed to find x64 drivers for all the hardware.
