Do you want to erase (and/or change) this service tag (Y or N)? y Dell Portables EEPROM Erase Program - D-Family Version 5.1 Copyright 1990-2003 Dell Computer Corporation. svctag.exe must be run in DOS environment, not from WINDOWS because it can be error within WINDOWS environment. I already made it with my friend's 1440. 1. create bootable USB with extracted content from the image. 2. copy all other file of extracted content to the USB but DO NOT REPLACE ANY EXISTING FILES (these files - MSDOS.SYS, IO.SYS, COMMAND.COM - immigrateed by format tool such as HP USB Format Tool). 3. Boot your 1440 with the USB and re-enter Service Tag. That's all
Sorry i did waste your time but i fix the problem before you reply the post andi post something but it seems it didn't load it on the page so I want to say the i manage to run DOS using a bootable program & i run the svctag.exe and change the service Tag & i'm so great full for your support & Patience. Thanks you soooooooooooo Much
sorry, but i don`t understand. is this enought, if i simply write this image to the CD: DellBIOSReset.iso or i must prepare bootable CD in a different way?
