    Hello,
first of all i am glad to be in a forum like this one ! And you all are a great community.

I am a newbie in the field of bios i am searching for somebodys help. Soldering and writing a .bin file to chip is no problem.
I saw that there are 2 Bios chips (MX25L8005) in Dell Inspiron 1564 .
I really don´t know how to flash the bios. How can i get the bin file? I tried to extract the exe file-- no success ! I am really lost !

Can somebody do that for me, please ! My service tag is: 9PLBXL1 Dell Inspiron 1564

I need the .bin file and the explanation if I have to flash both chips and how?
    THANK YOU VERY MUCH !

Thank you for your reply but i cannot Switch the power on. Therefor it´s impossible to do a bios recovery with USB-Stick.

There is no other way to try only with desoldering the IC and write the bin with programmer.

It would be great if someone could extract the bios file for me and upload the .bin file

post the backup.bin and tell me version ? A10 originally in pc? .. ill try to fix it and flash it back

ok i looked at the file and it seems u set to 1 Mb for backup.bin

needs to be a little bigger i believe 8Mb ( i might be wrong. looked at the .wph and saw it has ME and bios.. merging original bios from A10 to your file.

and you might have a bad ram stick.. if bios was not corrupt you could test by holding FN key and powering on.

LatinMcG, could you please describe the procedure a little bit in deatail for me? For example when i have a .wph file (8MB). How can i produce a .bin file from .wph file. What is the best procedure in Dell laptops? Please describe it a little bit for me. If a similar problem appears with another Dell that could help me a lot. What hex editor could you recommend?

Thanks one more time ! You are the man !

    @LatinMcG

I apologize for disturbing you again.... How to do a Bios update when there are 2 Bios chips (Dual Bios). I have a Gigabyte motherboard GA-Z77M-D3H with no video issue.
I want to try a bios update

    Thanks !

    Thank you LatinMcG !

I think i figured out the problem. It is in the vrm Unit of the motherboard and not the bios.

out of topic but is there anyone that try to run quad core in this? ex i7-740QM.

Is there a bios problem or unsupported CPU ?

    Best regards.
