My Dell notebook is new to me. I installed Windows 10. Device Manager shows no problems but all my drivers are Microsoft versions. Everything seems to work well. Would you leave as is or let Dell support do it's thing...or maybe something else? Thanks in advance for all replies.
You could run windows update and see if it installs any drivers, but for the most part you can get sound, LAN/WiFi from dell website and gpu driver from nvidia/amd(if you have one) or intel(if only integrated gpu).
It looks like the Enterprise 2019 ISO installed everything I need but with drivers supplied to Microsoft. If those drivers are adequate I'm not sure that I want to do anything else. In the past with Windows 7 I've always updated the drivers that the OS installs.
Imho better to leave it as it is, I'm also Dell user and all drivers are updated via Windows Updates, don't think of installing Dell support assist cr*p or something like this to install/update driver(s). Crux: if it ain't broke, don't fix it
Of course, it is not necessary to update the drivers if they work, but it is still worth knowing that Windows always offers outdated (sometimes even antique) versions, and often their packages contain only the really necessary part to get Windows installed and running. Usually their drivers are very slim. But yes, of course, we all know, that some like mother in law, the other like her daughter. It's a matter of "taste", but worse options shouldn't be recommended. As for how Dell Support Assistant work, it works great.
I'm not sure why this thread exists, given that you don't really want to do anything that is suggested... Then again, I guess keyboard needs to be broken in, so might as well make a thread, ask for advice and ignore it regardless...
