I've installed Dell OEM Vista Ultimate currently running as a trial as the BIOS is too old to hold a SLIC for Vista.

The installation found and installed drivers for all hardware except the nVidia 440 Go graphics PCTEL 2304WT modem and Alps touchpad. I found an Alps Vista driver and installed the Dell XP drivers for graphics and modem. They all installed fine and have no problems in Device Manager.

The laptop will sleep fine and recover from it. When I try to hibernate, the screen goes black and after 5 seconds get a BSOD with 'INTERNAL_POWER_ERROR' message and STOP error 0x000000A0 0x00000009 0xC0000001 0c00000001 0x00000000

I have done some research and found that the most likely cause is a corrupt ACPI table in the BIOS. This is with the latest A13 BIOS which worked fine in XP Pro.

You can only get the BIOS on a bootable install CD so I cannot post the actual BIOS file but that can be downloaded from Dell directly.

Can someone advise what I can do to dump the BIOS from the laptop so it can be analysed for corrupt ACPI table and to allow a SLIC to be inserted for Vista OEM activation.
