    Hi, Folks:
I have a Dell Inspiron 3847 with oem Windows 8.1 Pro on it. When I upgrade to Windows 10 RTM, I found I lose the OEM license. the "OEM" disappear from the end of the Product ID.
With Slmgr /dlv on command prompt, it said it is a retail version.
Aren't we supposed to get the a oem from a oem?

No all windows 10 upgrades are tied to the machine hardware id now. MS uses the same generic key per version that upgrades Pro upgrades to pro. That's it.

I upgraded a Lenovo laptop with W8.1 OEM the other day, same thing happened. I don't think it's something to worry about as the upgrade is part of Microsoft free upgrade like bat420 said.

Also dell laptop with 8.1 upgrade and activate easily.. first activate within win8.1 than upgrade to win 10 restart and activate the system.. after that you can clean install and it will activate automatically.
