    @urie

    May I ask you a question ? I just bought a Sony with Windows 7 Home Premium installed. I do not have a Sony Recovery Disk. I already downloaded Windows 7 Ultimate SP1. Would you mind if you show me a short guide how to create a New Ultimate Disk for Sony ? All I need auto-activating Disk .... I do not need any Sony background... or something else.

    Thanks in advance.

    To be honest i would just use searchengine' excellent Windows 7 DVD (Multi-Brand/Multi-Edition) Activation make sure that you only download from Download Link 1 i,e, if you have slic 2.1 bios ... and don't want loader files added, all necessary instruction are in his thread :)

    His scripts will activate windows and install logo's, themes and wallpapers.

    I would also backup you drivers for your computer or download the one for your model from Sony before re installation of windows.

    no disrespect to searchengine, because his addon is excellent and does do everything as advertised.... the logos installed are not the exact same as what the real thing from sony... so if you want to be 100% authentic, you will either have to replace those logo files, or use the "OEM folders project" which does the job but will only activate a specific manufacturer, such as sony :)

    Thank you urie for that information, I have printed it ready for future reference......

    I just have one small question to ask, (after looking through many many pages, and getting more & more confused), I came across Je Jins tut http://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/9682-Je-Jin-s-DISM-Tool and wondered if I would need to edit in any way the "install.wim" file, either before I do the above, after I do the above, or is it even necessary?

    Your help has been very much appreciated....

    stop reading all these other threads so you can stop getting confused
    there's nothing else you need to do other than modify or delete the ei.cfg file to get ultimate, THEN modify the slp.cmd file that's in the \sources\$OEM$\$$\setup\scripts folder with the dell ultimate SLIC 2.1 product key... or you can just replace it with the script urie posted and you can have it multi edition (which is what happens when you delete ei.cfg)

    the dell disc is 100% the same as the normal OEM disc, all that's added are 25 languages and the $OEM$ folder for automatic activation on a SLIC 2.1 system
