Is someone willing to build an ISO after an original Windows 7 OEM DVD or recovery disc, please? Any brand will do. There must be some out-there. Thank you
It's not worth the time and effort to upload one when you can make your own in a few minutes plently of info on forum.
@urie I know urie I can make my own and I have the know-how, but I'd like to take a look at how a large OEM builder like DELL or Acer builds their OEM dvds. I'm interested in folder structure and Autounattend.xml passes settings. @venu 99% of those"dell" oem preactivated dvds are actually home made, so that doesn't help me much. I know to do that myself.
@ kukubau, have a look in the OEM sources section, as for Autounattend.xml read unattend.chm from waik it is really helpfull.
I've read most of the unattended and WAIK documentation, but the issues I have are not covered, so that won't help me. Hopefully an untouched OEM dvd will do. I've been dealing with waik for some time now and I tried everything.
Any other OEM will do. Can the Acer Pqservice partition be backed up on a dvd, like Lenovo does its recovery discs?
Even if possible absolutly no use to you it is a disk image also very few OEM use the Autounattend.xml most are using $OEM$ folders and SLP.cmd Nothing will help if you don't post what issues you are having.
yeah i have the $OEM$ folder also not that much in Autounattend.xml just usual branding and adding key aslo noticed it doesn't add and cmd's for certificate, one thing i have always said it is not needed same as vista if certificate is in $oem$\$$\System32\OEM it is added automaticaly no need for scripts.
Yeah i have managed to get my hands on a few different brand 7 recovery discs and most of them dont use %oem$ folder or autounattend.xml, they mainly use there own image restoring software or manufactures software to restore
Yes peeps get mixed up with recovery dvd and oem slp dvd as you said recovery dvd put system back to the factory installed state with all the garbage and demo stuff. OEM SLP dvd is just windows install dvd only adds branding i,e logos e.c.t no software.
Yip this is true, If you do come across a recovery dvd that uses a $oem$ folder or autounattend.xml they are probably fake or the manufacturer is a low budget company compared to HP, Packard Bell etc or just cheap skates lol By fake i mean Home made
