    Hi,
Trying to Upgrade my two new used Dell Precision 490. A bargain 2x$97. Shipped mint. Bumping up from an HP Frankenstein with an E6400 I built from discarded computers and a NForce Athlon I slapped together years ago and a Pentium 4. I like to tinker. Cheap to at 60 yrs of age. Also getting a T7400. I could also use the link. Running Server 2008R2 Workstation mode. Is it possible to add more supported CPUS to the 490s? Does the bios control FSB?
Also I noticed a dealer selling 1600MHZ Dell 490's? The T7400 uses the same Clock generator and is at 1600mhz. SetFSB pushes the 490 to 1430MHZfsb stable. I have a bunch of used Zeons Duals and Quads some Xseries but mostly Eseries. Two Xeon X3353 matched would not boot? I have the last revision board on the Dell 490s. I can take the Xeon 3.73 Dual up a few notches. But starting with a Quad core at 1333MHZ 2.6 would be best I think 1066 pin mod then SetFSB. Stuffed two huge Nvidia cards using the PCI X slot next to the 16x 2.00:D Figure the 490s will do 1600MHZ. Its in the BIOS. T7400 will be fun also. That was steep $300. but 0 raid already.

Figure it is a Bios Mod. It would be nice if the link reappeared LOl. I will be 70 before I figure out the steps involved LOL !:worthy:
